Seriously i am so much confused about this concept of success in life! The more and more people i talk to who have either done their MBA or are currently doing it, the more i am confused about it. Why MBA? Everyone is running after earning more money, or jump higher on the corporate ladders of success, but no one is working to improve his/her quality of life. With increasing years of experience, people keep on increasing their number of hours in office. However high you rise in the corporate ladder, you are still scared of your boss or client or whoever finding a flaw in your output. So the point is, you are never really living a free life with proper peace and contentment, and also you dont have the time to spend all the million bucks you earn per month. And that my friend, is not my definition of success or where i want to be 10 years down the line..So what are your views on "Where do you want to be 10 years down the line?"

i think i really need to consider this in life... very soon vl implement as well :)
Hmm... This is what is called work-life balance my dear friend... basically you want to have a peaceful life with your family and the ability to do whatever you like... be an entrepreneur and enjoy the life to its fullest ;)
My answer to the question is the same as yours. :-)
Who has known the future ? Nothing yet decided and never will...
This is rare, Abhishek K. in one of his contemplative moods :)
Sometimes the best thing is to let life take its own course, do what you want to and things fall into their right place.
btw: err... Even Chetan B.decided to write (albeit after an MBA)
u know i really understand wat u meant...i thought gettin into IIM is all i want and dats wat happiness is all about..but i was at d place i wanted to be, and had evthing i dreamt of..still i did not hav d peace of mind !!
being wid right set of people is sooooooo important....!!
I want to be retired in 10 years time .. SO hopefully win a lottery or something :)
good blog you got ...
Good Write... The ever elusive stuff... contentment and peace. I think what a person really needs is .. work that one likes to do (which of course fetches some money :) ) and people he likes to live with. Hopefully, we'll get there. :-)
Excellent one that Abby.I endorse your views but do you think that's practical with increasing cost of standards of living and everybody wanting to settle down on nothing less than the best though I accept very very few know what exactly is best for them. Lot of trivia there but yes a good post..:)
I am impressed to know that you thought what u thought. Very few do. Coming to the point, I think necessity is the mother of invention. Going by that jab tamanna hain to rasta khud dikh jayegi.
Think on....
hmm 10 years down the line - would love be tht mommy whose 2 chubby kids think that shes the bestttttest :) and be a technical consultant preferably in the banking domain... and maybe in a firm that is closer to my home, the current one makes me drive a lot :( i would prefer to save that time..
Awesome stuff sirji,I totally buy the view that 1 needs nothing but contentment and peace in life.Practically thats the case with very few bcoz others keeps comparing themselves with their peers in all aspects of life.I am sure anyone who stops doing this will definitely find a way to be contend and peaceful.
I guess we are taught from the beginning or to put it in better words we see such a life around us that we make a mentality that we can be only happy and contended if we have huge stacks of money and a place in high society and in this quest we work day and night and always keep small happinesses (if thts is a word) second priority !!
And when the time comes and we look back we just see stacks of money!!
This is hell of a question we face in an interview.
